BESTMARKED does not collect personal data. Your times stay on your phone. The app sends only anonymous usage statistics, described below, so we can see in aggregate how the app is used. This page explains what that means in practice.
Your timed attempts, splits, events, and personal records are stored locally on your device. BESTMARKED does not require an account, and does not upload your times to a server.
BESTMARKED does not store any user data on servers operated by BESTMARKED or IS-AI Systems LLC, and never transmits your times, splits, events or records anywhere, so there is no server-side copy of them for us to retain. Two things are held by Google rather than by us: the anonymous usage statistics described below, which Google Analytics keeps for up to 14 months, and Android's own device backup, which is operated by Google under your device settings.
All data the app creates — your timed attempts, splits, events, and personal records — is written only to local storage on your own device. It is retained on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you delete it yourself. You can delete all stored data at any time from the app's Settings screen, and uninstalling BESTMARKED removes all of its local data from your device. Deletion is immediate and permanent; BESTMARKED retains no copy.
The only exception is your purchase record for the one-time Pro upgrade, which is retained by Google Play as part of your Google account, not by BESTMARKED. See Google's Privacy Policy for how long Google retains transaction records.
Starting with the October 2026 update, BESTMARKED uses Google Analytics for Firebase, provided by Google, to count how the app is used. It sends Firebase's standard app events (such as first open, sessions, screens viewed and app updates) and a few of our own: that the upgrade prompt or Pro screen was shown and what led to it, that the upgrade button was tapped, whether a purchase went through or failed (with the product, its price and currency, and Google Play's error code), and that the app asked Google Play to show its rating prompt. Each event comes with a random ID that Firebase creates for the app on your phone, the app version, your device model and Android version, and a country or region that Google works out from your IP address.
These events never include your times, splits, results, events, records or anything you type. The app doesn't collect your advertising ID or Android ID, ad personalization is switched off, and we don't use this data for ads, sell it or share it with anyone else. Google Analytics keeps it for up to 14 months, then deletes it. The events are tied only to the app's random ID, not to you, so we have no way to tell which are yours; uninstalling the app or clearing its storage gives it a new random ID.
BESTMARKED's one-time Pro upgrade is processed through Google Play Billing. Payment details are handled entirely by Google — BESTMARKED never receives or stores your payment information. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google Play handles this.
If you have Android backup enabled, your attempt history may be included in your device's backup so it can be restored when you set up a new phone. That backup is handled by Android and Google, not by BESTMARKED, and is covered by your device's own backup settings. Retention of that backup is governed by Google's backup and account policies, not by BESTMARKED, and you can disable it in your device's backup settings.
Practice reminders are optional and scheduled entirely on your device. Enabling them requires your permission, and no reminder data is sent anywhere.
If you use the CSV export feature, the file is generated and saved on your device, or shared through whichever app you choose. If you share a personal record card, the image is created on your device and handed to the app you select. BESTMARKED does not transmit exported data anywhere on its own.
BESTMARKED does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. It asks for no personal information from any user, and its usage statistics are anonymous and contain nothing you enter.
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version adds optional cloud sync — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
